This bi-monthly affair boasts the largest market collection of antiques in the country, and with over 700 stalls both indoors and out, I would tend to agree!

Armed with a cup of tea and wrapped up in multiple layers I was ready to start exploring.  By the time I arrived several items had already been earmarked with SOLD stickers, which is unsurprising considering that the gates opened at 6.30am (when I was still snuggly tucked up in bed awaiting the chimes of the alarm clock).

The range of items on offer is extensive, from original vintage to the reclaimed and reconstructed.  The larger products were arranged outside becoming disguised by a coating of frost.  I was particularly drawn to some beautifully aged trunks and cases, which looked as if they would have some incredible stories attached to them.  I imagined being transported back in time to a station platform, surrounded by towers of suitcases, waiting to be loaded onto a train to embark on an adventurous journey (how very ‘Railway Children’-esque!).
