Ian’s most memorable moment after selling at Kempton for over 30 years is selling to Paloma Faith.

Q- How long have you been trading at Sunbury Antiques Market?

A- I’ve been buying and selling at Kempton for at least 30 years

Q- What did you previously do before starting in the antique trade?

A- Trained as a chef then musician with garage-punk band Emptifish

Q- What is your most memorable moment at Kempton (maybe something funny)? 

A- Selling to Paloma Faith was a memorable moment she was delightful!

Q- What’s the best find you’ve ever had here?

A- My best find ever was a Chinese vase I bought for £10 and sold for £44,000

Q- What significant changes have you seen in the trade?

A- Sadly online business has spoilt a lot of the fun and mystery of the antiques trade

Q- What brings you back time and again?

A- It’s the people and the characters that bring me back every time I love it!

Q- What is the one thing you cannot live without?

A- I can’t live without the buzz and fun of the chase of the antiques trade we are all treasure hunters and it’s an exciting world!
